The Sharan Special: Individualist with exclusive features
Powerful 110 kW/150 PS TDI engine, special paintwork, new seat design and stylish 17-inch alloy wheels
Wolfsburg, 02 February 2005 - The new Sharan Special available from Volkswagen Individual has a stylish exterior, a luxurious interior and an exclusive, sporty equipment level. The Sharan Special has a 110 kW/150 PS four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with a maximum torque of 310 Nm, making it the most powerful turbodiesel engine in this range.
The Sharan Special's exclusive character is clear at a glance: special colours, for example "moonlight blue pearl effect" ("black magic pearl effect" and "reflex silver metallic" are also available) and its "CLassiXs" 17-inch alloy wheels in crossed spoke design. The sporty character of the Sharan Special is underlined by sports running gear lowered by 25 millimetres, a chrome roof railing, roof edge spoiler and darkened rear windows.
The seats have been redesigned for the special model. The side cushions of the seat and backrest are upholstered in "urban uni black". In subtle contrast, the central areas of the seats and the headrests are upholstered in "French sport anthracite". The five sport seats have a logo embroidered into the upholstery.
The steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever are clad in highquality leather. The colour of the seams has been coordinated with the colour of the leather and the gearstick gaiter. Chrome rings on the instruments, aluminium-look sill kickplates with the word "Special" and a radio system with integrated MP3 player are also part of the package.
The Sharan:
Germany's most successful large MPV has been in production at the Portuguese Setubal factory since May 1995. Over 490,000 Sharans have been built to date. The models delivered since 2004 have been perfected with new visual details and a range of new features. The bonnet and tail light cluster have been redesigned, the sills have been discreetly widened and side turn signals have been integrated in the exterior mirrors. The Sharan is fitted with a chrome radiator grille as standard. Standard equipment also includes a comprehensive package with ESP, brake assistant, front, side and curtain airbags, a dual air conditioning system (with separate temperature and ventilation control in the rear) and 16-inch wheels with correspondingly wide tyres.
